Companion Driver vacancy - apply now
We currently have a vacancy for a casual companion driver for the Tauranga and Papamoa area.
You must have a Class 1 driving license with P endorsement and, ideally, a first aid certificate and experience working with older people or those with physical or intellectual impairments. We are looking for someone able to start immediately.
This role is casual with no set hours or days and is initially to cover for holidays or sickness and to pick up unexpected extra work. There will definitely be days when there is no work or just an hour or two, so this role would suit someone who is happy to have just a few hours a week. You may be newly retired, or perhaps run a business with flexible hours or simply looking for a varied role to fill in some spare time.
Our busiest times are between 8 am and 10am and 2pm and 4pm Monday to Friday, so this will not suit anyone who drives a school bus every day or is always unavailable during those times. If you are free some days, but not others, that's OK, just let us know your availability when you apply.
Daisy Drivers take clients to medical appointments and children to school; we help people with their shopping or sometimes simply take clients out for a drive and a coffee. We have a lot of repeat clients and companionship is an important part of the service, so excellent people skills are essential. The nature of the business means that you need to be flexible, have plenty of common sense and not be fazed by last minute changes to your schedule. We also have a lot of clients who travel in their wheelchairs or who have walkers or knee scooters, so a reasonable degree of physical fitness is important.
A full clean driving license with P endorsement is essential - please do not apply unless you currently have this.
If you are interested in becoming a Daisy Driver, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us why you are interested in the role along with your C/V and an outline of the days/times which you are available.
